Not to Rain on Anyone's Parade

Frequent readers may remember when we reported that Lindsay Lohan was being considered as an "Artistic Advisor" to fashion house Ungaro. Pretty much everyone on earth thought it was a joke, or at the very least a crazy rumour, but then we found out it was indeed true.

Lindsay showed her first collection, together with veteran designer Estella Archs, in Paris this past week. Lindsay said, "I couldn’t be happier. Seeing everything pulled together, is simply amazing."

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but we are compelled to ask, what are Lindsay's qualifications? She designs a leggings line for crying out loud and that's because she can't get any acting jobs. How does someone who dresses like this get chosen as an artistic advisor for an established house?

Reviews of the show were mixed with the International Herald Tribune's Suzie Menkes commenting, "The Emanuel Ungaro show on Sunday may go down in history as the final gasp of celebrity madness."

Madness indeed.
