Celebrity News Roundup: Okay Penelope, We Hear You. Fattie.

This weekend we have a football game and a possible Renaissance festival to go to! Huzzah! But for now let's round up some news!

1. Nicole Richie just had a baby. Heidi Klum, Kendra Baskett and Kourtney Kardashian will all be having babies soon. One celeb who is NOT pregnant: Penelope Cruz. The actress, who is dating actor Javier Bardem, has been the victim of a lot of tabloid speculation recently that she is with child. Not only is she NOT pregnant, she's pretty irritated by the rumour. An eyewitness at the Toronto Film Festival red carpet told People magazine that when a TV crew brought up the topic, a clearly irked Cruz snapped, "That's your question?!?" – and promptly stomped away. Okay Penelope, we hear you. Fattie.

2. As mentioned in #1, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcomed a son this week, Sparrow James Midnight Madden. Why they even bothered with the "James" is beyond us, but we might have gotten a clue into his first name. Joel tweeted, "A song for the little songbird" and included lyrics to Simon and Garfunkel's song Sparrow. Guess this could have been worse -- the kid's name could have been Parsley, Sage, Rosemary or Thyme.

3. Possible spoilers of Sex and the City: The Movie 2 have surfaced. We're hearing everything: Big loses his money, is forced to move to London, cheats on Carrie, Carrie leaves him then discovers she's pregnant; Samantha's cancer comes back and she realizes how much she loves Smith Jerrod; Charlotte leaves Harry because she believes he's cheating on her when he's really building her her dream house; Miranda is sued for malpractice, quits her job as a lawyer and opens a restaurant with Steve. These are only a few of the rumours we've heard. Our verdict? We remember a lot of "spoilers" being leaked the last time they were filming SATC, and we wouldn't be surprised if people close to the film were leaking false details to throw us all off the trail.

4. Ellen DeGeneres is replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol. If this is news to you, we're proud to be your sole source of celeb gossip under that rock you call home. While we were definitely surprised by the producers choice, we have to admit it was a great move on their part. We saw Ellen guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance and she stole the show! We guess that could be the only downside to her judging. Who cares about the next Kelly Clarkson or Chris Daughtry when you have Ellen cracking jokes and being hilarious? Also, you know people are gonna totally tune Randy and whats-her-face out. Simon and Ellen will be the REAL judges.

5. Mischa Barton is blaming her stint in the psychiatric ward on her wisdom teeth surgery. That's right. Marissa Cooper claims that the pain of her surgery sent her to the loony bin. We're not sure about you, but when we got our wisdom teeth removed we didn't go all One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. We're just saying.

6. Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelley are adopting a baby girl from Korea. Make that a special needs baby girl from Korea. While we think this is a wonderful thing to do, we have to ask the question, is she trying to salvage her much-tarnished image? They plan to name the babyNaleigh after Heigl's mother Nancy and sister Leigh. We're curious to see how this plays out. Will Katherine become America's sweetheart? Or continue to put distance between herself and her fans. Stay tuned.
